"MIKADO"(GRAPHUNIQUE, BERLIN)
24.06.06
Berlin based writer MIKADO (member of Graphunique and formally known as Leo Schöpflin), combines tags, calligraphy, graphics and 3d-letters. In his work you can see how a simple and beautiful thing like a nametag (in this case "Mikado") develops to a complex graphical interpretation with depth, hard shadows, several layers, linear elements and finally transforms to an object, that might remember you in a famous game with coloured sticks... Typical for his style are linear elements and stretched triangles that form unique landscapes and architectural drawings, while still remaining letters. The media he works with are ranging from spraycan to brush, from screenprint to edging, from wood to screwdriver.

URBAN GRASSROOTS proudly presents MIKADO's work of the last half year. You can expect a funky all in the mix Writing&Graffiti related exhibition with phat beats, cool beers and hot chickens...
